Subject: Review of Frankenstein

Review/comment: I had never read Frankenstein , or indeed an " Horror " Novel previously. Everybody knows the story behind Frankenstein , or has seen at least one of teh films that the book has inspired , so I felt compelled to read the original for myself. I found the narrative more than a little dated and difficult to understand at times , however this is to be expected from a novel that is 200 years old. The plot remains fascinating and at times you need to remind yourself that this was written in an age of discovery when less than a quarter of what we know scientifically was still to be learned. The book is as much about History ( of both science and literature ) as it is a work of fiction. Worth the read , but not a book that would rate in my top 20.
