Review/comment: This is my favorite book of all time. I first read it at school when I was growing up in Kenya and the way the teacher brought each and every page alive has stuck with me ever since. I especially love the opening paragraph in the first chapter and the last chapter of the book, which truly makes the reader feel as if they're in 18th century England and France.
