Review/comment: Kate Chopin was a courageous writer for her time. most of her writing centered around women who are unhappy in their marriages and was published during the days when it was simply unacceptable to make known the problems behind closed doors. It was actually considered very offensive and vulgar. I cant help but admire her, a woman, who had the audacity and the drive to publish this type of material when the idea that men ruled the world was for the largest part unchallenged. this is a wonderully bittersweet story, and it would be great if I could get back online one day and find some more of her work on this site.
